  • Hi

I am new to this forum and wondered if anyone can recommend any bike friendly accommodation in Hong Kong. I am looking to to visit from Australia in August to do some riding for about 10 days. I would also appreciate if any one could offer any advise on the best trails. I ride XC & AM.

    Thanks for your help.

    Cheers

  • Hi mate,

I hope you have a good time in HK!

As for accommodation, the hotels/lodges on Lantau are relatively bike-friendly, but are rather basic. They are also really only suitable if you want to restrict your riding to Lantau, as it's not terribly convenient to from Lantau to all of the other places with good trails (including Tai Mo Shan).

I think the best person to ask as regards both questions would probably be bikesteve (aka Steve Coward) of CrossCountryHK, who should be able to sort you out.

  • All the following hotels border Tai Lam Country Park, if you google them rates are pretty cheap:

    Dorsett Far East Tsuen Wan
Royal View (under the Tin Kau Bridge)
    Gold Coast Hotel
