The box-like construction of the rear single-pivot arms looks massive and bullet-proof but is it heavy?

I believe, the most popular "Five" frame weighs (without shock) between 2.8kg to 3.1kg depending on size. Considering it's 140mm frame... that's pretty good!

I owned a Five a few years ago and had to replace the bearings at some point. You will not believe how light that rear arm is! My 4 year old son picked it up and played with it.

I let go of the frame and since there was no way I could get my hands on another one where I lived I went for a GT Force. It was time for a longer travel bike. Now that I'm in HK I am considering getting an Alpine. Orange's simple single pivot system works and to me it's a really handsome and effective frame.

I haven't checked the price yet though :(
