Before heading along to the bike shop go through a simple diagnosis by changing the cheapest part first, the valve where you add air. Screw a new car type valve "Shrader" in then using a shock pump to add air and see if it holds air.

I've not seen this type of fork in HK before,
Sky Blue Bikes in Sheung Wan will give you an honest opinion of if it can be repaired or not, speak to Shaun or Neil, 4 Bonham Strand West, 2545 2333

Forks have come a very long way in ten years, elastomers are generally only used on cheap end bikes these days whereas 15years ago they were cutting edge technology!

For around a HK$1000+ consider up-grading to either an air-fork or coil sprung these are far superior to elastomers and will improve the 'feel' of your bike alot more. -secondhand market is also worth looking at www.28bike.com
