Hi Ang,

Assuming you're just talking about just the main loop:

1. Very little of CMW is flat, climbs/decents are generally short but can be steep, near both the reservoir end and the wooden entrance sign lie longer climbs/decents that aren't as steep.

2. Hardpack surface, rooty in places, rocks tend to be mostly coarse and give good grip even in the wet but be careful near streams as they can be smooth and slippery. Trail drains well in the wet.

3. Hmmm, fairly similar although I think CMW has way more technical sections, that can be good fun if you like technical challenges.

4. Yes, beginners can find it just one long hike-a-bike specially in hot weather. Tai Lam Reservoir much better in this respect.

Hi all,

Chi Ma Wan questions:
  1. Is there a lot of climbs along the contour trail?
  2. What is the surface like?
  3. Is the trail similar to Dragon's Back contour path that is relatively smooth and fast with few obstacles?
  4. Is there alot of rocky/steep drop section where a beginner would need to carry the bike

Pls advise. Thanks.

This thursday is a bit early for me to change my day off, can we confirm for Thursday 25 March ? What time would we meet ? How far would we cycle ? What type of trail is it ( compact dirt, tar ) ? Just want to know so i can decide what tires to use.
Thanks.
